Broadstone – N gauge

Broadstone is an N gauge layout built by the late Reuben ‘Ben’ Dean.

The layout came into part ownership of a club member in 2022 and made its exhibition re-debut at the inaugural Swanage Model Rail event in April 2026.

The layout has recently undergone some scenic and electrical upgrades to improve running quality and reliability, something which we will be continuing with over the coming months. A rebuild of the fiddle yard will also be undertaken to make it more user friendly and we are considering the conversion of the layout to DCC operation.
